Kim Kardashian in Fragrance Launch at Sephora in Miami

"I created this look on Kim for her first of many fragrance launch events at Sephora in Miami," celebrity make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic said. "Kim and I like to decide together on the look that we're going for and on this day, we actually asked her fans on Twitter for their help in deciding on a make-up look. I wasn't sure if I wanted to give her a sexy, vamp look or go for soft and pretty make-up. In the end, I created an in-between look, playing up her eyes a bit with winged out liner on the top and bottom, rather than with dark shadows. Most importantly, I wanted her skin to glow and look radiant on the red carpet.”

Get The Face! Kim Kardashian – Valentines day Queen of Hearts

Happy Valentines Day! Here is a Valentines day treat for you all as I promised earlier today. I love doing this soft and pretty makeup on Kim and apparently you love it too! I’ve gotten a ton of requests for a “get the face” post for last nights Valentines look. Hope you try it out and if so, please send in pics to me. Here’s how you can “Get the Face!”

I started out with Josie Maran Argan Primer Mist on the face. Once that dries, go on to your foundation. On Kim -DiorSkin Forever Extreme Wear Flawless Makeup SPF 25. Use just a bit of this foundation and blend well. Set your skin with a little of Smashbox HALO Hydrating Perfecting Powder.

I filled in Kim’s brows with MAC’s Eye Brows Pencil in Lingering. Sweep the pencil with light strokes in the direction the hair grows. Brush through brows for a more blended, natural look.

Using a brush, I applied Sweetheart eye shadow by Josie Maran on the eye lids. Keep the shadow right below the crease. Next, I gave her a thin line on the upper lid using ARTLINER – Precision Point EyeLiner by Lancome. Feel free to extend the line out without overdoing it. Lashes – use one coat of HYPNÔSE DRAMA Instant Full Body Volume Mascara by Lancome. I added some individual long lashes by Ardell to the outer corners of her eyes. Follow with another coat of mascara on the top and bottom lashes as well.

To warm up and bronze the skin, I used Laguna Bronzing Powder by NARS. Using a small shadow brush, apply a dab of the bronzer to the crease of eyes and along the lower lash lines. To make her cheeks pop and to add a gorgeous glow, I swept Powder Blush by NYX Cosmetics in Peach on the apples of the cheeks. For that extra glow on the cheek bones apply N.Y.C. New York Color Sparkle Eye Dust in Opal Sparkle.

Finish off this Valentines look with a sexy and pretty shade of pink on your lips. Line all over with Sephora’s Nano Lip liner in Pinup Pink and follow with Pure Lipgloss in Petunia, also by Sephora. Have fun! Xo Mario

Kim Kardashian bebe Fashion Show Makeup Breakdown

Follow Mario's instructions to "get the face"...

Since the Bebe show was a day event, I wanted Kim to look fresh and modern and not take away from her bebe dress.

I used High Definition Healthy FX Foundation by Smashbox. Under the eyes is Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Protective Underye Concealer in Clair II. Set the makeup with Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in Translucent.

Brows are filled in with Sephora Collection Brow Sculpting Pencil in Medium, then brushed out to soften and blend. Use Star Sailor Eye Shadow Duo by NARS on the eyelids - the darker shade all over the lid and the lighter shade just in the center of the lid. Also smudge a bit of the darker shade along the lower lash lines. I lined Kim's inner eyes with NYC New York Color Eyeliner Duet in Rich Girl. The upper lids are lined with MAC Liquid Eye Liner in Boot Black. Finish off the eyes with a couple of coats of Dior's Diorshow Mascara in Black.

To warm up your skin and contour, use Bronzing Powder in Beach by Josie Maran Cosmetics. With a small brush, try sweeping some this shade onto the crease of the eyes. To get Kim's pretty cheeks, I went for Blush Me! in Rose Rebelle 1 by Sephora Collection.

Line your lips softly with Lingering Lip Pencil by GIELLA Custom Blend Cosmetics. Follow with Barbarella Lipstick by NARS and then gloss it up using Sephora Collection's Ultra Shine Lipgloss in Golden Pink 27. To set the whole look and keep it looking fresh all day, I sprayed AmorePacific Moisture Bound Skin Energy Hydrating Delivery System.

GET THE FACE! Kim K’s b-day look…Vegas

So many of you have been asking me for a “Get the Face” post on this look that I gave Kim… so here it is! LOL. I had fun glamming Kim up for her Vegas birthday. I did her makeup that night while she was laying down on this big, comfortable spa table/reclining chair and it was actually great doing makeup that way. It’s more exciting when they can’t see what i’m doing the whole time because they get surprised at the end. PS… The other birthday look from LA is coming very soon too!


Skin – I used Sheer Glow Foundation by NARS all over the skin. Under the eyes and to highlight I used YSL’s Touch Eclat. To set everything use a touch of Translucent Loose Powder by Shiseido.


Eyebrows are softly filled in with MAC’s eyebrow pencil in Lingering.
Eyes – Urban Decay eyeshadow in Eldorado on eye lids and browbone. Smog eyeshadow also by Urban Decay on the crease of the eye and outter corners of the lids. Smolder Eye Kohl by MAC rimming the entire eye and on the inner rims. Use more liner towards the outter corners. Using a clean brush, blend along the lashlines, moving up and out. Apply more liner for intensity if needed. Finish the eyes with two coats of Lancome’s Hynose Drama Mascara on top and bottom lashes.


Cheeks – On the apples of the cheeks, use Passion blush by Josie Maran. Skin is bronzed with Josie Maran Bronzing Powder. Brush it along the hairline, jawline and hollows of cheeks. To highlight the cheek bones, use Trace Gold blush by MAC.


Lips are lined with MAC’s Cremestick Liner in Summerfruit followed by Lipgelee in Saplicious, also by MAC.

"Kim was wearing a gorgeous white gown and I wanted the focus to be on her eyes. I had custom blended this pretty shade of blue shadow at GIELLA custom blend cosmetics in NYC and was waiting for the perfect occasion to dip into it. With her hair slicked back and a white off the shoulder gown, I was certain that it would work with the rest of the face done clean and dewy, with a nude matte lip."



"I prepped Kim’s skin with Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer first, followed by Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup all over. To set skin, I applied a bit of Laura Mercier's Loose Setting Powder in Beige. Her brows are filled in with Diorshow Brow Styler Ultra-Fine Precision Brow Pencil, concentrating on the outer corners."

"For her eyes, I sprayed a bit of water on an eyeshadow brush (this picks up and holds loose eyeshadow better) and dipped it into Aquagirl eyeshadow by GIELLA - custom blended by yours truly ;-). I applied Aquagirl all over the eyelids up to the crease, blending well so there are no lines. "



"On the inner corners of the eyes, apply GIELLA's b-dazzle eyeshadow. Use the leftovers on the brush to lightly sweep onto the brow bone. You dont want the brow bone to appear very shiny or light as it will look dated. Smoke Aquagirl shadow along the lower lash line as well. For more drama, you can take it all the way into the inner corners. Use Fascinating Eye Kohl by MAC on the inner rims of the eyes. Curl lashes a couple of times and apply two coats of Lancome Hypnose Mascara on top and bottom lashes. If you want super long lashes like Kim, apply a few individual long lashes to each eye. "

"Kim's skin is bronzed with Casino by NARS. Use a bit on a brush and apply it along the hairline. With a smaller brush, apply more onto the hollows of the cheeks. Use Orgasm by NARS on the apples of the cheeks. To highlight the cheekbones and bridge of nose, I swept a tiny bit of b-dazzle shadow by GIELLA and blended with a clean brush. "

"I lined Kim's lips with Subculture by MAC, then blended a dab of the Dior foundation to her lips. Blot that with a tissue and use Honeylove Lipstick, also by MAC."

GET THE FACE! Kim K @ Teen Choice Awards

This day was so exciting for me, as it was the first time I saw Kim as a blonde. I was pleasantly surprised! I had so much fun doing her makeup for the Teen Choice Awards. It was almost like I was doing another person! I also did Kourtney, Kendall and Kylie that day too. They all looked so beautiful :-) People magazine (out on stands right now) interviewed me as well to get the makeup scoop. Check out the image below and read more here to Get The Face!

Skin – I started out with one of my favorite moisturizers - Ultimate Youth Creme by Estee Lauder. For foundation, I went with Dior Nude Hydrating Glow Foundation followed by NARS pressed powder. I used Make Up For Ever Lift concealer under the eyes.

Eyes - Use Chopper eye shadow by Urban Decay all over the lid. Sweep Mac’s eye pencil in fascinating along the inner rim of the eye. Apply Cork eye shadow by MAC with a Qtip along the lower lash line. On the inner corner of the eyes, use B-dazzle by GIELLA. Lancôme Hypnose mascara on top and bottom lashes.

Eyebrows are slightly filled in with lingering brow pencil by MAC then blended and softened with a Qtip.

Cheeks- Lancôme Star Bronzer in Bronze Rich framing the entire face and on hollows of cheeks. Apply some to the neck and chest area as well. Brush Orgasm by NARS on the apples of the cheeks.

Lips - Fill in lips with Spice liner by MAC and follow with MAC’s Dazzleglass in Smile. ;) Have fun!

Troy Jesen's Blog: Kim Kardashian @ Spike TV Video Game Awards

70's glam for my muse, Kim Kardashian. For the Spike TV Video Game Awards, I wanted to create a look that was a little different from what I've done with Kim in the past. Sexy metallic gold and intense black-lined eyes with a soft pale pink mouth complimented her dress. I love creating new looks with Kim. She has a fantastic face to work on. In earlier events, I tried to keep it fresh and sexy but this time, I wanted to give Kim a red-carpet look reminiscent of early 1970's Cher.






Beauty Note: In creating the perfect 1970's sheer mouth, choose a lip shade one or two shades brighter than your own in a salmon, rose, or raspberry pink lipstick. Pat on with your fingertips then blot with a tissue. Top with sheer gold lip gloss. Cher always had the perfect sun-kissed skin. Blend Revlon's Skin Lights Golden Bronze liquid shimmer for a healthy glow all year round.

Troy Jesen's Blog: Get Naked: Troy's favorite nude lips colors

Another hot shade that I'm seeing on the runway this Spring, red carpet, and in countless Fashion magazines is nude lips. Whether it's paired with this season's bright eyeshadow shades or smokey browns and blacks, it's no wonder why everyone is getting nude. If I was known for anything, I would say I'm best known for a smoky eye and a beige nude lip. It's a look that can work on anyone, any race, any age beautifully. When creating a smoky eye in bronze and brown tones I love to pair it with a more golden beige lip color like NARS' Honolulu Honey or Belle Du Jour. While creating a smokey eye with taupes, greys, or blacks, I like to pair it with a more neutral or pinky flesh-tone beige like Chanel's Yuccatan lip color. It even works great brights like blues and greens. Navy blues, emerald greens, and deep metallic bronze or golds look very chic with a pale sandy beige like Dior's Eternal Beige 394. This look can give any woman instant sensuality and the spirit of iconic beauties like Sophia Loren, Raquel Welch, or a sexy Bond girl like Ursula Andress.

When glamming my current muses Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, & Nicole Scherzinger, choosing the right beige lip color is essential to embody the look I am creating on them. I have used many different shades of nude on Kim, for instance. I used NARS' Belle Du Jour paired with Giza lip-gloss in the photo of Kim above. The colors blend beautifully with her creamy golden skin tone. The art of creating the perfect nude is finding one that works with your skin tone and also the shape of your lips. Fuller lips can get away with the palest nude shades while thinner lips will need a bit more color or lip liner for definition. Whatever shade you choose be sure to pair it with a beautiful smoky eye.

While I love YSL, Chanel, Dior, and Nars for a beige lip color, I am also a fan of these lines and their nude lip color collections: Armani, Shiseido, Estee Lauder, & Dolce & Gabbanna: The Make-up.

Troy Jesen's Blog: Undercover: Tips

The skin under the eyes is very delicate and gets thinner as we age, making thick cover-up look like concrete. Keep it light, and apply it with a brush or Q-Tip. This helps distribute the color more evenly, as well as keeping a light and precise application around the eyes.. Put it only on dark areas, not under the entire eye. The trick is to create the appearance of an even skin pigment, not necessarily whitening it out. The first step to brighter looking eyes starts with your skin, darkness can be an issue of vitamin deficiencies, allergies, smoking, lack of sleep, or heredity. Consult a dermatologist to asses your personal skin needs. It's my job as a make-up artist to make sure that my clients like Kim Kardashian look beautiful and refreshed, even if they've just come off a red-eye flight or worked a long day on set with no sleep. Choosing the right concealer to camouflage imperfections is essential to looking younger and creating a more perfect 'canvas' for all of my best make-up looks.

Choose a velvety-smooth concealer to disguise blemishes and conceal under-eye circles. Most cosmetic lines carry concealers in light and medium shades, or professional palette of color correctors. They should contain silk proteins that allow for long-lasting wear without creasing. Formulated with Vitamin E; provides protection against skin-damaging free radicals; soothing and calming the delicate eye area.

If you're trying to hide dark circles, apply concealer like a surgeon. Tap a very small brush into a non-greasy stick or liquid concealer and then pat it under your eyes, localizing the pigment to the inner and outer corners, where the discoloration is usually worst to create a clean plateau. Don't over-apply the concealer all around the eyes — you'll look like a raccoon. Whether you're using a cream or a liquid concealer with a wand, apply just by dotting the product under the eye as opposed to swiping the product under the entire eye. A little dab will do you. Blend on under or over foundation to camouflage dark, blemished, red or pigmented areas. When you're done, set it with loose powder. But if you're trying to get rid of dark circles and smooth your wrinkles, you need to mix your concealer with a moisturizer that has hyaluronic acid and peptides. For hard to conceal dark circles, when the under-eyes look almost blue-ish or purple-ish, a color corrector may be needed. Usually by blending a touch of the color corrector needed for your appropriate skin-tone under the eyes before applying concealer will help correct the discoloration.

Here's a rundown on choosing the right color corrector for you.

Green is a popular color for use in correcting redness. Women with rosacea often go for the green.

Yellow is excellent for under eye dark circles. Yellow will counteract purplish blemishes or bruises.

Lilac or lavender normalizes a sallow face by minimizing yellow undertones.

Peach works to hide dark spots, veins, and some under eye circles.

White is strictly for highlighting. Blend it into your makeup on the top of your cheekbone to make it stand out.

I've been mixing Concealer and foundations together with products that have light reflectors in it for as long as I can remember. Why do those particles help the complexion? When mixed together with foundation or strategically placed at the top of the cheek bones, down the center of the nose, at the bow of the lips and the inner corners of the eyes near the tear duct it will give a fresh glow to the skin, while full coverage foundations/concealers can cause the face to look dull and lifeless. The highlighter, when applied correctly, gives an amazing glow and life to the face.

For some time now, I've been creating what would become prevalent in many of today's make-up lines. Natural looking shimmers. Years ago I used a shimmering hair pomade, Sweet Georgia Brown, mixed with foundation and I would apply it to the arms and legs of my clients. It was very sticky, but looked amazing on camera. The most natural looking liquid shimmers come in white pearl for fair complexions, shimmery golden beige for medium complexions and golden bronze for dark complexions. They should blend into the skin and look glowy, not glittery. On set I re-freshened the makeup with a mixture of foundation, Liquid highlighter, creamy moisturizer, and liquid toner. I apply with a Q-tip or tiny flat brush which really helps keep the face looking fresh, especially around the eyes and mouth where make up can settle into fine lines. Kim Kardashian absolutely loves it when I give her skin a glow on the red carpet. You have to remember that most of the time, most artists use powder for touch-ups, which makes a girl's face look too matte, crackly and cakey. My mixture makes my clients look radiant — it's like instant Photoshop! To control shine, use blotting sheets and a light translucent powder just on the T-zone. Concealer isn't just about covering it up. The important thing to remember is to create a natural, flawless, glowing complexion. Covering and concealing is just one part of it...If you try my tips, everyone will just see beautiful glowing skin - it will look fresh day or night.

GET KIM’S LUXE PALETTE (From People.com)

“My inspiration in one word was prestige,” explains Kardashian’s makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic of the look he gave her for a recent MTV appearance. “I was inspired by the attention-grabbing texture and color of the bright blue top Kim had on when I saw her.”

How to Do It
1: Use Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup in 050 all over the skin, followed by a touch of Nars pressed powder and Diorskin Sculpt Concealer in 003 under the eyes.

2: Dust Josie Maran Eye Shadow in Beach on the eyelids and brow bone. Then trace upper lids’ outer corners with M.A.C Liquid Eye Liner in Boot Black.

3: Smudge lower lash line using a Q-tip with a bit of the copper shade from the NARS Surabaya Duo Eyeshadow followed by a couple of coats of Lancome Hypnose mascara.

4: Trace lips with Lip Pencil in Spice and apply Dazzleglass in Smile, both by M.A.C.

Get Kim's Face: Scandalous Fuschia on Kim Kardashian

Look in any current fashion magazine and you'll see that Fuschia or Hot pink is the "It" color this season. The question is how would you rock a Hot Pink lip?
My Muse Kim Kardashian rocked it 2 ways for you. A naughty vixen with a dramatic 80's smokey eye and a sweet pin up girl with a slightly winged tipped eye. Both look great on Kim and I would do this bright Pink lip on a bare eye and tan skin. Whichever way you wear it, you're sure to turn a heads.
-To apply this hot lip. First define lips with a red or deep pink lip liner. Then apply your fuschia lipstick and blot then re-apply. You can keep it matte or for High-Voltage shine, add a fuschia lipgloss. Be scandalous in this season's racy shade, Hot pink!




Here are a few tips for Kim's "Nice" look:
-The skin and cheek are the same.
-Sweet lined eye's, start by blending a concealer over the entire eye area and set with a loose powder, then dab a touch of pale cream shimmer on the entire eye lid and blend well.
-Dust a bit of the pink powder blush onto the cheeks then across the eye lids for a hint of color. Line the entire eye with a black eye pencil and use a very thin eye lining brush to create the winged effect. Curl and coat lashes with a black mascara.
- Groom brows with a brow pencil and brow gel.

GET THE FACE - Kim Kardashian's sexy, smokey eye.

I did this smokey-eyed look on Kim recently here in NYC for the Three Olive’s Bubble Flavored Vodka party. Beleive it or not but this was actually the first time that I’ve done an all-black smokey eye on her, so for us, it was a different look. When I saw the cool outfit she was going to wear, I thought it was the right time to finally do the really dark eye’s I’d been wanting to try on her. Here’s how you can “get the face:”

Skin - I prepped her skin with Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer first. I let her skin absorb that for a couple of minutes before applying Mat Velvet + Matyfying Foundation by Make Up For Ever. I use this foundation from time to time. It gives a very velvety and pore-less look to the skin. For powder, I used very little of Subliminal Purity Mineral Based Loose Powder by Calvin Klein to set the foundation with a powder puff.

I used Dior’s DiorSkin Sculpt Lifting Smoothing Concealer under the eyes after all of the eye makeup was complete. (When working with black eye shadow, it will almost always fall down a bit and make a mess so clean the under eye area with a makeup wipe, then apply concealer.)

Her eyebrow’s are filled in softly with MAC’s Cork eyeshadow - with more of the focus on the outter corners of the brow.

Eyes - Apply Shu Uemuras Painting Liner Eye Liner in MBlack all over the eye lids and on the lower lash line as well. This is a long-lasting and highly pigmented black cream liner. To set that eyeliner and blend it up and out towards the crease, I used Lorac’s Eye Shadow in Black. The inner rim of the eye is lined with MAC’s white eye pencil in Fascinating. Using all black on the eyes can sometimes make them appear smaller so the white pencil on the inner rim is a great trick for opening your eyes. Finish off with two or three coats of L’oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black.

Cheeks - Apply Desire by NARS ( the perfect pink) on the apples of cheeks and blend well. The face is framed in Casino Bronzer by NARS.

Lips - I lined her lips with MAC’s lip pencil in Subculutre and used Dior Addict High Shine Lipstick in Pink Protege.

GET THE FACE: Kim Kardashian, NYC to LA

This look is actually very simple to recreate and doesn’t require so many products. I did this makeup on Kim in the morning for the Pepsi Max Bullrun rally in NYC and she was able to use it later that evening in LA for the Aces and Angels Celebrity Poker Party that she hosted at the Playboy Mansion. All it takes for your makeup to last all day and night is some powder and gloss touch ups. Here’s how to “get the face” -



Skin - I started out with a primer (Smashbox photo finish primer) all over her skin. This primer helps the makeup to last longer on the skin. After, I applied Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup all over the skin. I set the foundation with Laura Mercier loose setting powder. For concealer, I used diorskin sculp lifting smoothing concealer under the eyes and set that with Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder.



Brows - I filled her brows with MAC’s brow pencil in Lingering, followed by a little bit of MAC’s eyeshadow in cork on the outter corners of the brows.



Eyes - Apply b-dazzle by GIELLA custom blend cosmetics on the brow bone and on the tear ducts (inner corner of eyes). Use Antiqued eyeshadow by MAC all over the lid. Blend it up to the crease and out a bit past the outter corners of the eyes. Use antiqued shadow again along the lower lash line and blend. On the inner rim of the eye, I used MAC’s eyeliner in fascinating. Try Lancome’s Hypnose mascara on top and bottom lashes to finish the eyes.



Cheeks - To warm up the skin, I used Smashbox bronzer in Suntan Matte around the frame of the face and on the hollows of the cheeks. For a subtle glow, I applied the Copacabana multiple by NARS on the bridge of the nose and on the cheek bones followed by Peaches blush by MAC on the apples of the cheeks.



Lips are lined and filled in with the #50 lip pencil by Make Up For Ever followed by MAC lipglass in Queen Bee.

Troy Jesen's Blog: Black lips on Kim Kardashian

Pale complexion, ghostly sunken eyes without an eyebrow, a bold blackened matte lip, and an electrifying hair style...Not exactly a "summer beauty look". But with all the fall collections out, I wanted to try one of these runway looks on my muse Kim Kardashian.

This pale make up look was inspired by Prada's fall 2009 runway show.
I covered Kim's beautiful summer glow with a pale porcelain full coverage liquid foundation, and set with a pale powder. I then dusted her pale complexion with a pale pink bronzing powder and contoured with a brown eyeshadow in to the cheek bones for a really gaunt look. I then dusted all over Kim's face and body with a shimmer powder, The Bobby Brown powder body shimmer has 3 tones. I used only the palest shade.

The for the eyes. Kim's strong brows had to go to create this haunting look. Don't worry, Kim still has her beautiful brows. I just got rid of them temporarily for the making of this look. I used a brow concealing wax that they use more for movies, and spread the wax to flatten the brow hairs. Then I covered with the stick foundation, and set with the powder.

The eye's already looked sinister just by erasing the brows, so I kept the eye make up very soft. I blended a few shades from Bobbi Brown's nude eye shadow kit. I used the paler shades and lined the top lash line and inside bottom outer edges with a black cream eye liner, Then added a touch of silver shimmer eyeshadow to the center part of the eyes near the tear duct. Last, Coat and curled Kim's lashes and added a very natural fake lash for added fullness.

Kim's bold, goth lip was achieved by first applying a clear lip balm, then using the cream black eyeliner as my lip color and filled in Kim's entire lip with it. Then, using a soft eyeshadow brush, I blended an eggplant purple eyeshadow over to matte out and give a faint hue of color.

This was a fun look to create on Kim, and I am going to re-create this look for an upcoming fashion magazine shoot. And who knows, this haunting look just might get her a role on my favorite show, Trueblood.

How to Apply Kim Kardashian Black Lip

Apply the black ink liner onto the entire lip with perfect precision using the retractable lip brush. I chose to use the cream liner but you can also create this lip by using a black eyeliner or black lipstick. Any of them will do. Once you have applied your black base simply brush over the egg plant purple eye shadow to give rich matte finish.

First apply a clear lip balm to moisturize the lips before you add your liner, lipstick, or black/purple shadow.
