Get Kim Kardashian's Winter White Look for Less

Now this is how you do sexy sophistication. Kim Kardashian knocked it out of the style ballpark with the Altuzzara dress she wore to last night's Hollywood Style Awards. At the event, she was chatting about the new line she's creating with Kourtney and Khloé for Bebe. And according to her Twitter today, the girls' first meeting went "amazing" and we're in store for some "amazing" clothing. Pretty amazing, right?

But are the reality stars truly designing the line? We're not so sure, considering Kim told Twitterland, "We saw all of our sketches! WOW." Either way, the line's not going to be out for a while, so we have to find other ways to steal Kim Kardashian's winter white look:

How to Wear Over-the-Knee Boots?

—Sara W., East Windsor, Conn.

There's no question that over-the-knee boots have a bad rep because of their association with streetwalkers and showgirls. But it's high time to dismiss all that, because if there's one trend to try this season, it's over-the-knee boots. Here are some tips and tricks to get a leg up on fall's hottest footwear fetish the right way.

Let's make some things clear right away. When pondering your over-the-knee boot purchase, you may feel so inclined to buy a stiletto version of the look. But if you want to avoid the nickname "Kinky Boots," I suggest you forgo this option. If you absolutely need some leg-lengthening magic, at least make it a chunky heel or a stylish wedge.

For a look that's a surefire success, take a flat-style boot, add leggings for easy tuckage and toss on a tunic or long cardigan on top. This simple ensemble still has a sexy vibe, minus any red-light-district references.

For a night out, take it a step further by spicing up your ensemble with a sophisticated blazer and a hardware-heavy necklace. And if you're more of a dress kind of girl, opt for a non-cinched version to create a long lean silhouette, and keep the hem one to three inches above the top of the boot. Show any more skin than that, and your friends will think you've taken a side gig as a backup dancer on the Vegas strip.

But really, regardless of the look you want, the only thing you really need to pull off this style is confidence. So get out there and strut your stuff. Hitting the pavement never looked so good!

Winterize a Watercolor Dress

TREND: Watercolor dresses

WHO'S WEARING IT: Alicia Keys (BCBG Max Azria), Leighton Meester (Louis Vuitton) and Thandie Newton (Matthew Williamson)

HOW TO WEAR IT: Watercolor dresses don't scream cold-weather chic. So winterize them with lots of black—black tights, black pumps, black bag, black jacket, black belt. Just think twice about wearing black socks with black shoes à la Leighton. That's one artistic statement not everyone will understand.
