Kim K's Blog: Off to Africa!

I'm off to South Africa for Russell Simmons Diamond Empowerment Fund. DEF is a non-profit organization that aims to empower disadvantaged people in African nations where diamonds are a natural resource, through education. Some people online have been judging me for my charity work with the DEF. No charity work should ever be judged, it's just wrong. We can all do something to help!

I am so excited about the trip! Has anyone ever been?? Or is anyone from South Africa?

The pics are from Gossip Girls.

Kim K's Blog: Experimenting with Different Hollywood Hair Looks

I've been experimenting with a lot of different Hollywood hair looks recently. First I tried out a long glamorous blonde look with the help of Chuckie Amos for Scott Barnes' book About Face. Then Ken Paves helped me transform my hair into a short, light bob for a magazine photoshoot. Then for the MuchMusic Video Awards I ditched the wigs and Roberta Rogers and Ken Paves used my real hair and created an illusion of a short dark bob for a brunette Marilyn Monroe look! I loved it!

I love experimenting with hair looks! It keeps things interesting and new, and thanks to the amazing and talented hair stylists who create my looks, I know I'm always in good hands and my hair will always look red-carpet ready! haha.

Do you have a favorite look that I've done recently? I'd be interested to see which hair look you like the best! Let me know why in the comments!

Spotted Kim K: and Reggie Bush Take Flight

Continuing their globetrotting ways, Kim Kardashian and sister Khloe were spotted along with Kim’s main man Reggie Bush at LAX International Airport yesterday (July 12) preparing to depart.

The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” sisters looked excited to be traveling, smiling as they went through the security checkpoint while Reggie Kept it cool.

In related news, it sounds like Kim had a run-in with Johnny Law over the weekend, ending up with a citation for her tricked-out ride.

She tweeted, “Ughhhh just got pulled over for tinted windows & no license plate!” She added, “I just got my car back from shop & they took off my back plate! I got a ticket 4 smoked out tail lights! Isnt that legal? The officer said he wasnt sure so he cited me anyway & will dismiss it if he’s wrong! What a jerk!”

Troy Jesen's Blog: Black lips on Kim Kardashian

Pale complexion, ghostly sunken eyes without an eyebrow, a bold blackened matte lip, and an electrifying hair style...Not exactly a "summer beauty look". But with all the fall collections out, I wanted to try one of these runway looks on my muse Kim Kardashian.

This pale make up look was inspired by Prada's fall 2009 runway show.
I covered Kim's beautiful summer glow with a pale porcelain full coverage liquid foundation, and set with a pale powder. I then dusted her pale complexion with a pale pink bronzing powder and contoured with a brown eyeshadow in to the cheek bones for a really gaunt look. I then dusted all over Kim's face and body with a shimmer powder, The Bobby Brown powder body shimmer has 3 tones. I used only the palest shade.

The for the eyes. Kim's strong brows had to go to create this haunting look. Don't worry, Kim still has her beautiful brows. I just got rid of them temporarily for the making of this look. I used a brow concealing wax that they use more for movies, and spread the wax to flatten the brow hairs. Then I covered with the stick foundation, and set with the powder.

The eye's already looked sinister just by erasing the brows, so I kept the eye make up very soft. I blended a few shades from Bobbi Brown's nude eye shadow kit. I used the paler shades and lined the top lash line and inside bottom outer edges with a black cream eye liner, Then added a touch of silver shimmer eyeshadow to the center part of the eyes near the tear duct. Last, Coat and curled Kim's lashes and added a very natural fake lash for added fullness.

Kim's bold, goth lip was achieved by first applying a clear lip balm, then using the cream black eyeliner as my lip color and filled in Kim's entire lip with it. Then, using a soft eyeshadow brush, I blended an eggplant purple eyeshadow over to matte out and give a faint hue of color.

This was a fun look to create on Kim, and I am going to re-create this look for an upcoming fashion magazine shoot. And who knows, this haunting look just might get her a role on my favorite show, Trueblood.

How to Apply Kim Kardashian Black Lip

Apply the black ink liner onto the entire lip with perfect precision using the retractable lip brush. I chose to use the cream liner but you can also create this lip by using a black eyeliner or black lipstick. Any of them will do. Once you have applied your black base simply brush over the egg plant purple eye shadow to give rich matte finish.

First apply a clear lip balm to moisturize the lips before you add your liner, lipstick, or black/purple shadow.

- Lip Balm (Yogi Bare Clear)
- Retractable Lip Brush
- Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow (Eggplant Deep Purple)

Who wore Dries Van Noten better?

Both Nicole Richie and Eva Longoria Parker have been spotted wearing this Dries Van Noten spring 2008 dress. Nicole wore hers at Cartier's third annual Loveday Celebration, on June 18, 2008. Eva wore it on the cover of InStyle US in March 2008.
I prefer Eva's accessories, so she wins for me.
What do you guys think?

In Nicole's closet: Gucci

Back in 2006, at a surpise party for her ex-fiance Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein, Nicole Richie looked amazing in this Gucci saffron pleated wrap dress from the cruise 06 collection. She paired her dress with Christian Louboutin "Decollete" pumps.

In 2006 Nicole appeared in Elle magazine wearing a stunning Gucci fall 06 dress. She was styled by Rachel Zoe.

Ototo Sushi

WHAT: Ototo Sushi

WHERE: 7 Boston St. | Seattle, WA 98109

WHEN: Sun-Thu 5pm-10:30pm | Fri-Sat 5pm-11pm

WHY: The Scene
This is not a cozy, snuggle-up kind of place, and it certainly doesn't blend into Queen Anne's otherwise low-profile restaurant row. It's clean, bright and starkly decorated; the outdoor chairs are an almost Day-Glo shade of red. But welcoming and attentive service, as well as a few sips of sake, provide sufficient warmth.

The Food
Presentation is lovely, doing the bright, fresh sashimi justice--the soft, silken amoebi (sweet raw shrimp) and delicate hotate (scallop) stand out. The spicy tuna roll is one of the best in the city, but also the simple Negitoro (fatty tuna with green onion) is equally impressive. The lobster roll, when it's on the menu, is fine, but not worth the extra money. Among the entrees, the miso-marinated salmon is excellent, as is the monkfish in sweet mango sauce. Desserts are tempting, especially the large chocolate calzone, but can be overkill after such a delicate dinner.
