Runway to Red Carpet: Nicole Scherzinger

Nicole Scherzinger in Valentino Fall 2007 Couture

Who Wore Corey Lynn Calter Better?

Hilary Duff first wore this black and gold sequined Corey Lynn Calter shift dress to the Teen Choice Awards.

Jessica Alba wore the same dress in white with multi-coloured sequins to the Scream Fest in LA.

Runway to Red Carpet: Halle Berry

Halle Berry wore this Versace Spring 2008 gown to the "Things We Lost in the Fire" London premiere .(The dress has been modified slightly to accommodate her baby bump.)

The colour is divine, and the gathered detail on the front of the dress conceals her baby bump.

Victoria Beckham's New Obession

Victoria Beckham has long been known for her hugely enviable Hermes collection, but it looks like she has temporarily deflected to a new love. The Louis Vuitton Lockit Bag.

The bags comes in a variety of different styles. Crocodile (as above), Suhali leather, and Epi leather and Nomade leather.

The bags start from around $930 to $2,320. The croc bag costs way more.

Style Watch: Cutout Couture

It seems that when it comes to fashion, it's all about cutting out something: carbs, shoes, swimsuits, and, yes, dresses. Last year everyone exposed their backs. Then came risqué snowflake-style design. But now stars are content to simply reveal their sides.

The slits work best when the rest of the dress is fairly conservative. Kate Hudson's Rachel Roy gown has sleeves and Alexis Bledel's Cushnie et Ochs sheath has a high neckline. Hayden Panettiere pushed it with her cleavage at the Star Trek premiere. Had her curve-hugging dress been any shorter, it would have been highly inappropriate. Remember, leaving a little to the imagination is what makes this trend sexy. Uncovering it all makes you look like, well, you get the point.

they need to be seen....

When it comes to shoes, we become like kids in a candy store. Drawn to them like a magnet, we want them all! They shine, they sparkle, and they are true jewels to our feet. Aren’t our shoes supposed to last forever? Wishful thinking huh!! We often tell ourselves if I get this pair, I will never buy another pair again.

Honestly what we are lacking is the occasion to wear them. We are not necessarily invited to fabulous parties, red carpet events or the next huge premier. We are also not jetting around Beverley Hills or Rhode Drive like celebrities, getting our photos taken wearing the newest, hottest and fabulous designer shoes. The truth is we probably have hidden away our own collection of designer shoes.

Here are some of my favorite picks of shoes that can easily be worn with pair jeans. However, remember that some shoes have to keep a very high profile and jeans are probably not your best choice.

Christian Louboutin satin- crepe pumps with bow detail

Christian Louboutin- galaxy pass 100 sandals

Miu Miu- gold leather pumps with jeweled heels

Sergio Rossi- black and gold sequined platform sandals

Designer Handbag of the Week: Hermes Shoulder Birkin

Hermes’ new designer Jean Paul Gaultier on the helm has redesigned the infamous ‘Birkin’ bag for spring/summer ‘05. This is no small innovation, given that the original is in such demand that there is a wait to get on the waiting list. But JPG’s changes work — now you can actually get the bag over your shoulder.

Due to its shortened height, the bag seems as long as an eighteen wheeler semi! Like Luella with her Baby Gisele, the logic step to an already successful handbag was to adding a shoulder design and appeal to a wider audience. Among the large variety of carry-alls that we’ve seen, this new shoulder Birkin sure is in contention for the throne. So damned appealing!
As shown on the right in the new “pumpkin orange” shade, the bag will go for £4,000 (~$7,500). Stores around the globe hesitated with the large orders for the bag, unsure about how the new low profile would appeal to the customer base. In addition, a limited production is running on these treasures as well. Hence, the new Hermes Shoulder Birkins are even more scarce than the legendary regular Birkins.

However, since Jean Paul’s line had been intro’ed last fall, US sales for Hermes went through the roof. Coincidence? Me thinks not.

Kim K's Favorite: 24/7 Curl

Part of what Kim does is use 24/7 Curls: It's an instant-set curling spray that protects from the heat of curling irons and locks in shine. It has memory that creates long lasting curls. Here's how you use it: You section your dry hair then you spray it on evenly over each section before you use the curling iron. It really helps in protecting your hair but makes the curls last all day! Kim never just curl my hair without any product or it will fall so fast.

Kim K's Blog: Catching Up with Old Friends in Dallas

"Kourtney and I took a trip back to her old college town of Dallas, TX. Kourtney went to SMU in Dallas for her first two years of college before she transferred to the University of Arizona.
Kourtney and I flew in to attend a charity event and go to a night club called Dolce.

When we planned the trip, we decided to call my dad's best friend who lives in Dallas to have dinner with him and his family. It's been 10 years or more since we have seen them so it was so nice to catch up! They brought old home videos and pictures of us when we were kids. It brought back some great memories!

After dinner we headed to the club, and they provided the most amazing car! It was an armored bank vault truck! They redid the whole inside with plush couches and flat screens. It's the ultimate party bus! The party was so much fun and it was really good to catch up with some old friends.

Kourtney has more pics from the Dallas trip on her blog, so go check those out!"

Kim K's Blog: Teaming up with Russell Simmons

I recently had dinner with my dear friend, Russell Simmons in NYC, and we got into an in depth conversation about something that I didn’t know a whole lot about. He told me about how, a couple weeks ago, he was standing side by side with Governor David Paterson of New York when, with one stroke of a pen, he ended the Rockefeller Drug Laws once and for all. For the past seven years, Russell has been a leading member of a campaign to end the Rockefeller Drug Laws, which started mandatory minimum sentences in 1973 (meaning that if you get busted for drugs, you get automatic sentencing, even if you’re an addict or are non-violent). I learned during our conversation that since the "War on Drugs" began in the 70’s, America has gone from incarcerating 200,000 people to 2.4 million this year. When he told me that, I was shocked!! How did we get to this point where so many people are in prison? I am not an expert in this area, and honestly, I have never really paid attention to this issue in the past, but it doesn’t seem like we are on the right path. I wonder why we put so many people in prison and treat so many drug users like criminals? Surely the best thing to do would be to get help for those who need it, instead of ignoring the problem and throwing them in jail, to take up spaces that should be filled with criminals... not addicts. A lot of people need support and treatment, and to be treated like individuals who need help, not criminals who need to be locked away in a cell. This is an issue that affects our whole nation, not just New York, so, I asked Russell how I could help.

With the success of the Rockefeller Drug Law campaign, he was recently approached by the White House and the US Attorney General to support them in a major initiative to reform the criminal justice system nationwide. He asked me if I would join him on this journey. I was humbled since I definitely need to learn more, but I will count on Russell to teach me more and I am ready to dive into this issue and speak to anyone who is willing to listen. And I know that if our generation decides that something needs to be changed, we will make that change.

What do you guys thing about this issue? It's one I haven't brought up before, but I'm sure you guys have some thoughts, and I'd love to hear them!

Kim K's Blog: Derby Spectacular Party

"Friday I met my mom in Kentucky! We'd been planning this Kentucky Derby trip for weeks now trying to get coordinating outfits! I was hosting the big Derby Spectacular party at Glassworks and a bunch of my friends came by to support. Tila Tequila, Tyrese, Joey Fatone, the Lachey brothers, 'Bachelor' Bob Guiney and his wife Rebecca all came.

Yes, Joey and I patched up our beef! Haha. During Dancing with the Stars, Joey said something about my dance skills and he was misquoted, so I told Lance Bass that Joey hurt my feelings and we patched it all up!! I couldn't love Joey more, so no beef there now, guys! We hung out all weekend and I'm so glad we got to meet and really hang out!

See, I should know you can't always believe what u read, but you live and you learn!

The party was a blast and on our way out we noticed this painting on the wall! It's a copy of the painting from my recent calendar shoot with Troy Jensen. I posted it here on my blog and the artist replicated it! I was honored! I've included the original photo in the gallery so you can see what a great job the artist did!"

Runway to Red Carpet: Kimora Lee Simmons in Fendi

Kimora Lee Simmons wore this sequined Fendi Spring 2007 mini dress to the Fashion Rocks event.

Eva Longoria in Kaufman Franco

Eva Longoria is stunning in this Kaufman Franco gold sequined dress. I would have preferred strappy sandals with this dress though

THE CLOTHES

It was a sad day when Sex And The City ended. It didn't not cry. OK I shed a slight tear as my Wednesday evenings would no longer been the same.

This show introduced many to Manolo Blahnik's, Jimmy Choo's, Cosmopolitan's, Bungalow 8 and for some the 5 character of the show, New York City.

I had mixed emotions on the announcement of the new Sex And The City Movie as I am worried that they would not be able to recreate the magic, but since seeing these pictures I became excited about the 6 character of the show....THE CLOTHES.

I believe the clothes for this movie will be off the scale. I am already in love with Carrie's outfit from these scenes.

The shoes are from Dior, the outfit maybe Gucci, but is must be Spring 2008, so no confirmation yet.

Sarah Jessica Paker's Parisian "Covet" Wardrobe

The dress is a beautiful dress by Christian Lacroix from his Spring 2006 collection.

In August Marie Claire, Sarah explains the reason the dress was chosen.

"Christian Lacroix chose this outrageously beautiful, billowy white gown for me from his archive collection specifically for the Covet campaign. Mr. Lacroix not only designs dresses but he creates art. He designs with drama and glamour in mind. This dress in particular , when we saw the photographs of the collection , we thought ?oh that would be amazing'. It's real couture, we're in Paris, and we're standing in an iconic location, the Place Vend? and just everything about it was so perfect. The story would not be complete without the drama of this dress."

Just to finish the Parisian theme Sarah wore the very distinctive - by the red sole - Christian Louboutin shoes. If there ever were an award for ‘Best in Shoe Product Placement in Advertising’, it would go to this commercial.
