A Sunday in Malibu With Beauty Queens and a Hip-Hop King

Regional beauty pageants rarely draw an A-list crowd. But Miss Malibu isn't your usual town-and-country show. For starters, it was held at Cher's old house. Yes, as in the Cher. And in keeping with the music theme, Ludacris was one of the judges. Yes, as in Grammy-winning hip-hop artist Ludacris. He joined Elizabeth Röhm, Khloé Kardashian and nine other judges in crowning the new Miss Malibu and Miss Teen Malibu. (Miss California Tami Farrell and Kelsey Grammer's daughter, Greer, won last year.)

For those who didn't get crowned, a few tips from Miss Kardashian…

"Some of them dressed a little too mature for their age," Khloé said of the teenage contestants, who were stunningly beautiful and, one couldn't help but notice, extremely well-endowed. (Something in the water?!) One statuesque blonde even channeled Marilyn Monroe with a curve-hugging white gown that showed off her Gisele-like legs as she sashayed down the stage built over Cher's old pool. But if you stripped the girls of their grown-up gowns, sexy Erzulinea for FredaLA bikini chains and flawless Oxygenetix makeup, they were at heart just adorable teenagers—with a knack for fashion. "Some of them had really cute style," added Khloé from beneath dark diva shades.

According to Khloé's mom, Kris Jenner, the reality star and her two sisters Kim and Kourtney had a "great sense of style" when they were growing up, too. "But they had a very expensive sense of style—and I had to pay for it!" she laughs. Considering how famous they are today, we're guessing it was worth every penny.
