The Kardashians step out and Kim Karries “Khloe”

Oh goodness, I’ve got to stop making these title puns. But it’s funny! And appropriate. You see, the Kardashian sisters (and Scott) all went to dinner at STK Restaurant, and Kim carried this awesome Black Chloe Shelby Tote, except her sister’s name is Khloe, as in Chloe… so there you go. It works.

Handbag ~ Pick of the Day: Chloe Python Paraty

While the time of “it” bags is surely over, there are still hit bags that continue to grab our attention each season. Last year we were all handbag-star-struck by the Chloe Paraty bag. First spotted on Katie Holmes, the bag could not stop generating buzz. Who is it by? When it is available? Is there a wait list? Everyone had to have this particular Chloe Bag.

I still love this bag and prefer it in python, like all of the hot stars continue to sport. The color of choice is black python (pictures of Rachel Zoe continue to surface with her sporting hers). When this handbag came out it caught our attention, it drew us in, and we all were loving it. Is this just a bag of last year or is it a bag that is here to stay? What do you think about the Chloe Paraty now?

Buy through Net A Porter for $3820.

Handbag ~ Pick of the Day: Chloé Elsie Lurex Shoulder Bag

Elsie is quite a unique name, and I actually know two Elsies and one Elsa, so I'm a bit biased. But the Chloé Elsie Lurex Shoulder Bag is not quite as unique as the name. Sure, it has a bit of exotic, with its alligator print, but that's about the extent of its exotic and unique identity. However, if you want a classy, classic bag and are tired of Chanel, then this is certainly a great choice. If there are two things that Chloé has mastered, it's great, heavy leather and the fact that the devil is in the details (metaphorically speaking).

This bag is made of Lurex, so no great heavy leather here. But there are some extremely subtle details that are worth noting: the twisted rope handles and the interesting clover-shaped turn-lock closure. So yes, it looks cool and classic and all that, but I think something is missing here. There's a hint of blahness that is just not going away for me. I'd say, pair it with an amazing outfit to distract from that. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $1,250.

D.S Pick of the Day: Chloe Suede Criscross Sandals

I love their sleek look and their cone heel which they craft without excessive shape. These shoes shoes will match almost everything.

Handbag ~ Pick of the Day: Chloe Heloise Small Hobo

I’m not sure about the Chloe Heloise Small Hobo. Like, I’m just really, really not sure. Let’s hash it out: the braiding on the handle is, in my opinion, genius. The thick braiding gives the bag heft while still retaining a sort of girlishness, like a thick elementary-school plait. I also can’t get enough of the tiny, tiny pocket on the front of the hobo. What is it for? A penny, à la penny loafers? I don’t know, but the fact is, it is there. And some haters will say it serves no purpose and therefore it’s stupid to have there, but I think it’s cute.

Now, on the bad side: there’s something off about the flaps (pleats?) on the front of the hobo, and the bottom of the bag also has flaps that make it look too heavy. Also, the cream and blue color options are just not quite right- it’s like Chloe was a shade off. Even though I like a few details, the fact that the color and overall shape are wrong just makes the whole bag seem icky. Next time, Chloe, keep the good deets but get your colors right. Buy through Saks for $995.

D.S Pick of the Day: Chloe Gold Ankle Strap Sandal

These Chloe Gold Ankle Strap Sandals scream Hollywood glamour. They are so simply designed, but pack so much glitz and sophistication, that they really deserve the gold medal in my book. The two toned gold really adds to the dimension of the shoe, and makes it anything but your basic gold heel.

From the front, it’s bronze. From the back, it’s gold. Sometimes the colors mesh, but in this sandal, they work together beautifully, for a faux color block look that is really stunning. There is just enough shine in the texture of the leather to really make these shoes pop. I love the small cut-out along the ankle, along with the ankle strap. These shoes are very delicate and classy, but definitely hot at the same time. For some reason, I will always picture gold tones with summer and fall, and these shoes are perfect for both seasons. I would love to wear these with a metallic mini dress for summer, with some mixed metal jewelry. For fall, I think that these sandals would be great with skinny crop jeans and a fitted top, with tons of necklaces to add to the shiny, glam look. Sometimes, it is the simplest of shoes that are really the most stunning, and these are definitely in that category.

Handbag ~ Pick of the Day: Chloe Heloise Bowler Bag

So, we’re all familiar with the Chloe Heloise bag. It’s been out for a few seasons now, and interest in it may have died down a bit, although it is, by all accounts, a beautiful and functional bag with a bit of a funky edge (something that Chloe does well). Something that Chloe also does well - milk an ‘it’ bag for all it’s worth (hey, not that I can blame them)! So now, we have yet another incarnation of the Heloise bag: the New Chloe Heloise Bowler. I little shorter, a little squater, and a little wider than the original, it still has all the elements that tell everyone “Hey, y’all, I’m a Chloe!” The straps and finish of the bag remain largely the same, but I’m not complaining: I thought it was beautiful when it first appeared on the market, and why tinker too much with something that you did right the first time? What caught my eye about this bag in particular is the color: cobalt blue is supposed to be THE color next season, and getting such a vivid shade in the thick, buttery leather for which Chloe is famous must be rather difficult. They pull it off with aplomb, however; the color is even, bright, and true blue. Buy through Saks for $2030.

Handbag ~ Pick of the Day: Chloé Sally Calf Leather Shoulder Bag

Chloé Sally Calf Leather Shoulder Bag the accent to detail in this bag is what makes it gorgeous. Notice the careful gold hardware outline of that makes the subdued violet color pop, the delicately woven gold straps, and the overlap on the double-flap front. By taking advantage of Net-a-Porter’s Zoom-In feature, you can get a close-up on the gorgeously pebbled calf leather. And of course it helps that my favorite color is purple. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $1396.50. (6.1.09)

Handbag ~ Pick of the Day: Chloe Shelby Shopper

I’ve never owned a Chloe bag, but I’d really like to before my bag days are over. The Chloe Shelby Shopper this is one of those bags that, if it were mine, I would be constantly petting it. The Shelby has that super-matte, velvety texture that reminds me all over again why I love handbags in the first place. And when you combine that leather with a beautiful, rich, unexpected color that can be used year-round. Buy through Nordstrom for $2175.(5.5.09)

Designer Handbag: Pick of the Week: Chloe Cream Paddington

Chloe Paddington became a staple in the handbag world, bringing in millions of followers world wide. I still use my Taupe Paddington Tote from time to time, and my beautiful Rouge Paddington Satchel has my attention here and there too. For fall and winter, a lush Chloe Cream Paddington will spice up your wardrobe. The color is defined as sand, but it appears like a creamy treat, accented with gold hardware. The rest of the bag is just like any Chloe Paddington, featuring double top handles, two slit pockets, canvas lining, a key attached to the handle, and, of course, the signature padlock. Through NAP for $1540.

In Lauren Conrad's Closet - Chloe Myrte Sunglasses

I wondered who would be the first celebrity to be spotted shopping in Topshop New York, and that person was Lauren Conrad. After arriving in the Big Apple, her first stop was at the Soho store. The reality star must have had a great time, as she left with a very large bag of goodies. Her look was casually fine - as always - looking cute in a rolled sleeved black blazer, cashmere scarf, leggings, tall boots, and a lust-worthy caramel Chanel purse. Just to seal her star status, she wore a pair of Chloé Myrte sunglasses. The sunglasses have gunmetal inlays which stylishly contrast with the glossy resin of the round sunglasses, fashioned with gradient lenses for a modern look. You can buy them from Net-A-Porter's US site for $290, or the international site for £196/€270.

Designer Handbag of the Week: Chloe Paddington Croc Satchel

When you think of nearly $13,000, do you think of buying a handbag? Most of the world would say no in a heart beat. The people like ‘us’, the selective group of fellow handbag lovers, would say mmm a Birkin! But would you ever change your mind and say ‘mmmm, a Croc Paddy!’ Chloe is hoping there will be a very elite market to draw in when selling the Chloe Paddington Croc Satchel. Delicately and intricately designed from luscious chocolate crocodile, this satchel shows off golden hardware and the signature padlock closure and tassel with key. The least Chloe can do is offer metal feet to protect the base of the bag. I am under the assumption that the inside is still only lined in cloth, which makes me wonder if the crocodile used to make this bag was a limited edition extinct species. Either way, this Chloe handbag measures 8″H x 14 2/3″W x 7 1/2″D. original price $12,880.

Chloe new Creative Director

Chloé announced British designer, Hannah MacGibbon as its new Creative Director, taking over from Swedish designer, Paulo Melim Andersson just 9 days after he presented the Fall 2008 collection in Paris - I guess the powers that be did not like it.

Hannah is due to make her debut at Paris Fashion Week.

Melim Andersson began at the French label in 2006, presenting three collections with mixed reviews. The Swedish designer spent seven years at Marni prior to his appointment.
