National Arts and Humanities Medal Ceremony

Sarah was recently recognized by President Obama for the National Arts and Humanities Medal Ceremony, and she was at the White House for the ceremony. She looked gorgeous in a pink Victoria Beckham dress. Thanks to Holly, who helps me out with Only Alexis Bledel, for some of the images!

Style Secret: Denim Trend! Celebrities Are Feeling Gray

TREND: Gray jeans

WHO'S WEARING IT: Paris Hilton, Victoria Beckham, Katie Holmes

HOW TO WEAR IT: The darker the gray, the more slimming the jean. Stay away from faded denim unless you have mile-long legs like Paris. If you go for an ombré effect like Posh, make sure the gradient goes from dark at the hips to light at the bottom.

Cardigan Chic: It's a Cinch!

TREND: Belted cardigan

WHO'S WEARING IT: Leighton Meester, Janet Jackson and Victoria Beckham

HOW TO WEAR IT: Cinching a slouchy cardi will not only make the casualwear look chic, it's a fantastic way to show off your shape, especially when you're wearing a patterned bottom layer. As for color, a caramel-hued belt will pop against fall's grays, while a classic black waistband oozes sophistication.

Update: Just found it on YouTube and all I can say is “Ehhh? I don’t get it”, and I used to work in advertising.

Barbara & AnaA have concluded that the ad refers to Victoria being an icon who is followed.

She’s the one who is in front of a line that follows a rhythm, like she is the Director of an orchestra of style, and that orchestra is composed of regular English girls, each in their houses, one even waiting for the bus.

Victoria is the leader and the rest follow, but at the same time saying, “I’m like you, a girl next door. I wear these clothes, but they also belong to you”.

Thanks ladies, just goes to show I was more interested in fashion than advertising.

Runway To LAX Victoria Beckham In Victoria Beckham Collection

It was announced that Victoria Beckham will be a guest judge on “American Idol”.

Am I the only one who hates this idea?

I thought Victoria had shelved the music industry in order to concentrate on her fashion line and be seen as a serious designer.

The thought of her sitting in Paula Abdul’s old chair critiquing tone-deaf deluded “singers” just leaves me cold.

Victoria was spotted at LAX yesterday looking as chic as ever despite the touches of de ja vu - Hermes Birkin, sunglasses, headband and Trib Two’s.

She was wearing the black bouclé Alavoine mini dress with gold embroidery from her own Fall 2009 collection.

This is one of the very few pieces from her collection that didn’t sell out immediately when it was uploaded onto Net-A-Porter recently.

In Victoria Beckham's Closet - Valextra White Bag

I love Victoria Beckham, only Cate Blanchett ranks above her in my hero worship table.

What I love about her, is that she is constantly introducing me to new brands.

This weekend Victoria took her sons to the Century City Mall before heading to her BFF Kate Beckinsale's daughters birthday party.

She was dressed in - what is fast becoming her uniform - a black strapless dress from her own collection, YSL Trib Two pumps, whilst carrying a white Valextra bag.

Valextra is a Milan-based luxury leather goods company, who make exquisite bags, clutches, luggage and office stationary.

Victoria's is part of the S line range, which come in 3 different sizes.

What makes this bag so special, that the largest celebrity Hermes collector would choose it?

Well Valextra is often compared to Hermes and Louis Vuitton in terms of workmanship. You should recognise a Valextra from afar, despite it not having any logos printed on the outside. The workmanship and luxurious materials used sets it apart from the others.

"Valextra is a true luxury, whispered not shouted", says Bag aficionado ooOoo.

Prices of the S Range start from from £1,890 and can be found at the Room of Luxury in Harrods.

Armani 5th Avenue Store Opening

Victoria Beckham's street is impeccable, but her red carpet style has not impressed me Armani 5th Avenue Store Opening.

The fashion designer, who has just shown her second collection in New York this week, outshone everyone on the red carpet wearing a one shouldered crystal embellished nude mini Armani dress.

I would have preferred a strappy sandals, but I do love her matching satin pumps too.

In Victoria Beckham's Closet - Hermes Himalayan Birkin

While most people are tighten their belts because of the economic crisis, Victoria Beckham does not know the what the fuss is all about. This was clear when she showed off her new Hermes Himalayan Birkin - a Christmas present from her hubby David. What is so special about this bag? The 30cm crocodile skin Birkin has diamond-studded hardware. It costs a staggering £80,000/$120,000. It's one of only three in the world. The waiting list for the Himalayan is closed - and those already on it have to wait four years.

In Victoria Beckham's Closet - Nancy Gonzalez Clutch

Victoria Beckham looked beautiful as she left Nobu in Manhattan. The fashion designer accessorized her black exposed zipper ensemble with YSL Trib Two's and a large Nancy Gonzalez crocodile clutch. It's rare to see Victoria carry a bag other than a Hermes Birkin, but this clutch does compliment her ensemble well. The silver clutch cost $2,800 at Saks from Saks.com.

Runway To Photo Shoot: Victoria Beckham Harper's Bazaar US January 2009

Victoria Beckham graces the cover of Harper's Bazaar US January 2009 looking stunning, and she smiling, for a nice change.

She has plenty to smile about as she has graced the cover of nearly every Harper's Bazaar and Glamour worldwide, and she has also sold out her entire dress collection in Selfridges London and Manchester, sealing her credibility as a designer.

Not all are happy about this though. The Daily Mail has wrongly questioned her design skills.

Here are some extracts from her Harper's Bazaar interview:

On always being in high heels: "Oh, c’mon, they’re not that hard to walk in…They’re not uncomfortable! You have to go to a sex shop to get this spray to polish them."

On her success in the fashion world: "I really had to prove myself, though…But now I feel like I am competing in an arena where I belong."

On her routine: "It’s funny; I go to the gym now…I run four miles a day…I go into hair and makeup, and I turn into ‘Victoria Beckham.’ I’ll try on all my dresses, and I’ll pick out a handbag, and I’ll put on the shades. I instantly turn into this person, and it sort of feels like a character. And there are so many pictures of it…But it’s a true character because it’s still me."

On occasionally letting herself go: "I run around the house in a tracksuit sometimes!…If I go to the supermarket looking like s—, that affects my work. I am selling an image. Plus, I have fun with it."

On her image: "I have started smiling…I’ve mastered this smirk; it’s a smile that isn’t a smile."

On her previous performance anxiety: "I used to get so nervous, and when I got on the red carpet, I’d freeze up. I’ve had so many things said about me over the years, like a public bullying."

On not being nervous anymore: "The older you get, the more comfortable you become with yourself, and you accept what you have physically. Also, the fact that my business is doing very well…makes me feel a little more confident, too."

On the paparazzi: "I don’t complain about paparazzi because I’ve put myself in that position, and so has David. But I always say to the boys, someone is going to take your picture because you’re handsome or you’re smart or because you’re so good at soccer. But every now and again, Romeo might pick up one of David’s cameras and say, ‘Victoria, Victoria, over here!’ And his attitude is sort of angry… I tell you, the paparazzi would not be sitting outside if they realized I was the most boring person in Hollywood."

In Victoria Beckham's Closets - Hermes kelly Longue

Whilst out shopping with Eva Longoria on Good Friday, Victoria Beckham was seen with a new bag. She stayed true to her Hermes addiction and carried a Hermes Kelly Longue in Gold Swift leather. Her Hermes handbag collection seems endless.

Victoria’s Kelly Longue is made with Swift leather, but the Longue also is available in Box, Veau Doblis, Chevre Mysore, and Crocodile. The price for this bag starts at around $4,000.

This handbag is a stunning classic. Victoria’s Hermes collection continues to be impressive and is forever growing.

You maybe surprised to know that it is her husband David who has purchased most of her Hermes collection. How many of your husbands/boyfriends even know what a Hermes bag is?

Exactly. I hope she knows how lucky she is.

Victoria Beckham in Giambattista Valli

The forever fabulous, Victoria Beckham wore this very sexy and very tight custom-made Giambattista Valli Spring 2008 strapless dress to her mother's 60th birthday party in London yesterday.

Runway to Red Carpet: Dior, Bottega Veneta and Calvin Klein

I was worried that after seeing all the paparazzi shots of Victoria Beckham's Elle Magazine shoot back in October 2007, that by the time I saw the magazine, it will feel like old news, but that is not the case as we have these studio pictures which are fresh and new. On the cover she is wearing a cotton jersey tank, and suspender pants from Dior Spring 2008.

Victoria Beckham To Give The US Style Tips

That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything in Between will be a small, handbag-sized book that includes practical advice on fashion, beauty and personal style.

"Victoria has a fantastic sense of personal style and panache, and That Extra Half an Inch helps women make the most of everything they have in dressing for any occasion," said Harper Entertainment paperback publisher Carrie Kania, who made the deal for U.S. rights along with executive editor Laurie Chittenden. "While Europeans have long been aware of her role as a fashion trendsetter, we want to help bring that sensibility to American women as well.
