Marc Jacobs Studded Wedge

Marc Jacobs has brought funky edge to the world of wedges, and given them a fabulous update with these Studded Wedges. Featuring black patent leather alongside chunky gold studs, this shoe is edgy, fun and totally wearable through the seasons.

This wedge can easily be dressed up with black skinny jeans, a black top, gold bangles and a little gold clutch, and can be dressed down with jeans and a black t-shirt. Either way you go, these wedges are perfection. I love the ankle strap, as it adds a bit of femininity to the shoe, and contrasts with the studs just enough. The thin straps in the front, holding the different sized studs are dainty, but at the same time tough, and give off a rocker chic yet girly look that is easily coveted.

Handbag ~ Pick of the Day: Marc Jacobs Wrath Studded Bag

The multicolored, multi-sized studs are attached in swirly lines that cover nearly every inch of the bag. It’s over-the-top, in-your-face, and a host of other hyphenated phrases that mean that it’s, in the immortal words of Rachel Zoe, BANANAS.

My favorite part, however, is the thick, tough, oversized chain handle. The bag is such a statement that nothing less than a handle like that would be appropriate, and I’m glad that designers still have the nerve to do things that not everyone will understand or enjoy. Buy through Net-a-Porter UK for £4,100

Miss Piggy Wears Marc Jacobs Fall 2009

Isn’t this just the cutest thing you ever saw?

Anyone over the age of 25 or so will recognise Miss Piggy from the Muppets.

Girlfriend is looking good at 35.

Miss Piggy popped into Marc Jacobs headquarters in advance of the MACY’s Glamorama show in Chicago tonight.

She was wearing a custom-made black Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 cap sleeved dress embellished with jeweled stones, plus her signature elbow length gloves to complete the look.

Move over Madonna, the real diva is back in town.

Handbag ~ Pick of the Day: Marc Jacobs Rockabilly Leather Bag

The Marc Jacobs Rockabilly Leather Bag is yet another instance where I find myself loving and I mean absolutely loving Marc Jacobs. The impeccable MJ was able to to take a leather bag and add a laser-cut swirl pattern that doesn’t destroy the bag, it makes the bag. Since it is black leather, a simple single strap would be a great way to sport this edgy bag. Add a splash of silver-tone hardware, lattice detail at the side rings and to me, the best part, the bag is lined in fuchsia satin that sneaks through from time to time. Marc, let’s grab a cappuccino, talk fashion and realize that we are long lost friends – I’ll sport this bag! buy through Net-a-Porter for $1350.

Handbag ~ Pick of the Day: Marc Jacobs Iggy Shoulder Bag

Now this is a surprise. A fall bag utterly devoid of studs? But it's true. The only hint of rocker on this Marc Jacobs Iggy Shoulder Bag is the fairly sedate chain-link strap. But that's not the reason I was attracted to this bag, which, I admit, is an all-or-nothing bag, a love-it or hate-it bag.

No, I like it for the unique purple and teal color, which is heightened by the quilted python design. I mostly like the purple color because I am a massive fan of purple handbags. I also really like when I see brightly-colored bags, because so often bags are in darker colors- brights simply draw your eye to the bag. Plus, isn't that tiny lock on the front just adorable?

The only complaint I have (about the bag, not the lock) is the length of the chain strap. It's so short that it seems out of proportion considering the size of the bag. If only it had a little more length, then one would be able to sling it comfortably over the shoulder. It seems to me that it's a little to short of a strap to do that¦ unless if the bag slouches sufficiently. One can hope! Buy through Saks for $1,295.

Handbag ~ Pick of the Day: Marc Jacobs New York Rocker Stam

First we got the studded-yet-understated Marc Jacobs Stardust Stam, and now he’s brought us the not-at-all-understated Marc Jacobs New York Rocker Stam. Although I’m not sure that this sequined-n-shiny satchel is best suited to New York – in fact, I think it might be more at home in Las Vegas.

And I mean that in the nicest way possible – I love this bag so much that I could just drool all over it. The name of the last Stam I reviewed reminded me of Sin City, and now this; does anyone else think that maybe Marc should consider doing a glizty, glamorous Las Vegas-inspired collection? Sequins would be the perfect place to start, and I love the ones on this bag because they’re not as expected as sequin-covered bags usually are. They’re small enough that at a distance, they blend together to form a shimmery, shiny whole instead of a bag covered in sewn-on crap, and the silver, off-center, abstract pattern at the bottom gives the bag a modern edge that helps it avoid the grandma-bag pitfall of multitudinous sequins. Viva Las Vegas! Er, uh, New York! Buy through Saks for $1995.
