More Photoshoot Additions!

I’ve added more photos from Kim’s portrait session with little sister, Kendall that I added a little over a week ago. This selection of outtakes contain gorgeous photos of Kim in the gym and poolside in a variation of coloured bikinis, also lounging around and bouncing on a trampete. There are also some cute photos with her sister as the pair pose with some inflatable rings

This look is actually very simple to recreate and doesn’t require so many products. I did this makeup on Kim in the morning for the Pepsi Max Bullrun rally in NYC and she was able to use it later that evening in LA for the Aces and Angels Celebrity Poker Party that she hosted at the Playboy Mansion. All it takes for your makeup to last all day and night is some powder and gloss touch ups. Here’s how to “get the face” -



Skin - I started out with a primer (Smashbox photo finish primer) all over her skin. This primer helps the makeup to last longer on the skin. After, I applied Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup all over the skin. I set the foundation with Laura Mercier loose setting powder. For concealer, I used diorskin sculp lifting smoothing concealer under the eyes and set that with Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder.



Brows - I filled her brows with MAC’s brow pencil in Lingering, followed by a little bit of MAC’s eyeshadow in cork on the outter corners of the brows.



Eyes - Apply b-dazzle by GIELLA custom blend cosmetics on the brow bone and on the tear ducts (inner corner of eyes). Use Antiqued eyeshadow by MAC all over the lid. Blend it up to the crease and out a bit past the outter corners of the eyes. Use antiqued shadow again along the lower lash line and blend. On the inner rim of the eye, I used MAC’s eyeliner in fascinating. Try Lancome’s Hypnose mascara on top and bottom lashes to finish the eyes.



Cheeks - To warm up the skin, I used Smashbox bronzer in Suntan Matte around the frame of the face and on the hollows of the cheeks. For a subtle glow, I applied the Copacabana multiple by NARS on the bridge of the nose and on the cheek bones followed by Peaches blush by MAC on the apples of the cheeks.



Lips are lined and filled in with the #50 lip pencil by Make Up For Ever followed by MAC lipglass in Queen Bee.

Private Dinner for the Diamond Empowerment Fund, 16th of July

I’ve added candids of Kim along with boyfriend Reggie and sister Khloe at a private dinner for the Diamond Empowerment Fund last night at Lee-Ann Summers house as Kim and the gang’s tour of Africa continues. Kim looks stunning in a toga-esque dress and a roman inspired belt to go with. For those of you who follow Kim on Twitter, you’ll know that she came across lion cubs at the house where they were having dinner.

Tribal Print Goes Black and White

Tribal fashion is known for its graphic prints in equally eye-catching colors—yellow, orange and green. So we were surprised to see celebs like Kris Jenner, Jessica Szohr and Lucy Liu rocking the pattern in subdued black and white.

It's summer and I would have loved to see Nicole in something that reflects this, something colourful.

Nicole Richie appears in yet another Japanese magazine.
This time she is pictured in the August issue of Glamorous.

This beauty story that I worked on just came out on the cover of Profil magazine. It’s also been published in Harper’s Bazaar Malaysia and Bulgaria (how random, right?). The shoot was so much fun to work on and I’m very happy with the end result. My freinds/photographers Ron Contarsy and Seth Karecha collaborated on this story together and Deycke Heidorn did the amazing hair. I have worked on a few different fashion and beauty shoots with Ron and Seth and they’re definitely one of my favorite teams to work with.

I remember being excited for this shoot when I heard that Aleksandra Martynyuk was booked as the model. I’ve worked with her on a few shoots as well over the past couple of years. She has beautiful fair skin and is such a sweet girl!

The inspiration for the makeup came from the big flower head peices. Deycke and myself collaborated together to determine which makeup and hair looks would go best with each flower. Oh, and here’s a little secret makeup trick for you - I used the old Hollywood face tape to really pull the brows up and open up the eyes. :-) Hope you like it!

D.S Pick of the Day: Francesca Mambrini Cork and Python Sandals

There is so much amazing detail in these Francesca Mambrini Cork and Python Sandals, yet they somehow have a simplistic look, and are the ultimate fun summer sandal. While there is a lot of color going on, they remain very neutral, allowing for all of the embellishments to have effect.

Starting with the ruffling at the front, there is a girlish flair in the shoe. The cork conic heel is very fun, fashion forward and gives the sandal and espadrille like effect. These sandals are very geometric, with many architectural elements working together. The orange, while bright, is subtle enough against the cork and gold-ish tones to really let the shoe stand out. The multi-colored platform adds dimension. There is a great marriage of femininity and modern edge in these sandals. I cannot wait to wear these with a summer dress, or even some denim cut-offs and an off-white tunic. Summer days, and nights, here I come.

Handbag ~ Pick of the Day: Prada Tessuto & Ricamo Tote

The Prada Tessuto & Ricamo Tote, I was entirely sure that it was Valentino. Partly that’s because of the difficulty of photographing the details of a bag like this, but partly (or maybe mostly), it’s because it really LOOKS like some of the Valentino bags we’ve seen recently. Incredibly intricate, shiny, flower-themed…that’s kind of their thing. D.S Pick of the Day: D&G Dolce and Gabbana Black Lace Bow Peeptoe Pumps

These Dolce and Gabbana Black Lace Bow Peeptoe Pumps have me saying Ooh-La-La-Lace! These pumps are very streamlined and so refined, with a delicate heel and a beautiful arch. But onto the real detail of the shoe.

The lace bow in the back of the shoe is truly stunning. I love that it is done in nude with a black lace overlay, so that the bow really becomes the center of attention in the shoe. Nude is a great color because it stands out, but isn’t too bold, and doesn’t distract from the beauty of the design of the shoe. I adore how the lace starts on the sides of the foot, and comes up in a bow at the uppermost point of the shoe, making it rest against the ankle artfully, almost looking like a flower. Paired with a pencil skirt mini, a little black dress or even a nude dress, this is a statement shoe. So keep the outfit minimal, and let the bow do the walking, and the talking.

Alexander McQueen Izzie Clutch is the latest bag in this shape that I have found. I love the hardware, even if the gold is a little too gold-y for me, a tad too garish. It’s the shape I’m obsessed with. The clutch itself, on the other hand, is a different story.

D.S Pick of the Day: Christian Louboutin “Bianca” Platform Python Pump

I love Christian Louboutin’s “Biana” platform pump in leather, but it is beyond fabulous in python. I am completely obsessed with this shoe!

I love the shape of this pump. It is modern, but still very elegant and sophisticated. And, of course, like all Monsieur Louboutin’s heels it is extremely sexy! The black python is incredibly gorgeous. If you’ve been planning to buy an exotic pump, this would be a great investment. It is expensive, but a nice python pump like this will go with everything, and you’ll be able to wear it for years to come!
