But with Whitney Port's more conservative top or Gwyneth Paltrow's sophisticated blazer, the shorts become a little more wearable—especially when they're worn over opaque tights.

But lo and behold, Leighton Meester rocked the trend on New Year's Day. We think the lingerie-inspired look should stay behind closed doors, i.e., in the privacy of your own bedroom.
