Kate Hudson does drama justice at the 2010 SAG Awards

Now *this* is the kind of drama that I like. Kate Hudson was absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous at the 2010 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Kate wowed photographers, fans and colleagues in her amazing white Emilio Pucci gown. From the front, you can’t really see anything that is all that interesting. You might be able to catch a hint of the sparkly silver inserts along the sides but otherwise, nothing all that special. Yes, the gown is form fitting, but it isn’t until Kate turns around that you see the drama that I am talking about. This backless dress is absolutely stunning. While Kate is very slim, she is also rather athletic so her back looks amazing. I also love the jewel that hangs down the middle of her back. Kate’s look is 100% knock-out.

Add Some Sparkle to Your Side

TREND: Embellished sides

WHO'S WEARING IT: Kyra Sedgwick (Vera Wang), Carey Mulligan (Lanvin), Kate Hudson (Emilio Pucci)

HOW TO WEAR IT: A little sparkle on your side instantly enhances curves. While you can buy a pre-embellished dress like the women at the SAGs, jewelry is a more sensible alternative. Follow the draping of your dress and pin a brooch, or cluster of brooches, where the folds stop at the side of your waist or hip.

TIP: This trend is perfect for weddings. Give each of your bridesmaids a unique brooch to wear on her dress as she walks down the aisle. They can later use the accessories to bedazzle a jacket or sweater, and it will always remind them of your special day.

A Rainbow of SAG Awards Style

Celebrities must really have been sick of all the rain in Los Angeles. Because for the 16th Screen Actors Guild Awards, they painted a rainbow.

Check out mystyle's SAG Awards Style 2010 gallery to see the full spectrum of arrivals, from Carey Mulligan's red Lanvin and Diane Kruger's marigold Jason Wu to Anna Kendrick's purple Alberta Ferretti.

Cocktail Chic: Go White for Night

TREND: White dresses with black accents

WHO'S WEARING IT: Jennifer Carpenter (Paula Ka), Dianna Agron (Georges Chakras), Katrina Bowden (Tadashi Shoji)

HOW TO WEAR IT: A little black dress is a classic, but a little white number will make you stand out in the crowd. Nervous about white looking too bridal? Take inspiration from the actresses at the SAGs and add black as an accent at the waist or with accessories.

Hairstyle Trend: The Side Buns at SAGs

TREND: Side buns

WHO'S WEARING IT: Diane Kruger, Jenna Fischer, Marion Cotillard

HOW TO WEAR IT: The key to a stylish side bun is to make it look effortless. Instead of a severe, tightly twisted knot like Jenna's, go for a more relaxed style like Diane's. It's easier to do and looks 10 times as chic. Pull your locks into a low side ponytail and loosely wrap your hair around the base with an elastic, securing it with bobby pins. Pull out a few pieces in front to soften the look.

Tip: Don't wash your hair that day! The dirtier the hair, the more texture you have to play with. For limp, fine locks, add some volumizing spray and use a curling iron before creating the bun.
