Who Wore Roberto Cavalli Better?

Shu Qui or Elisabetta Canalis

George Clooney has a new girlfriend, so that must means he has a new movie to promote.

Elisabetta Canalis is George’s current flavour of this red carpet season, and the genetically blessed couple looked outstanding walking their first red carpet together at “The Men Who Stare At Goats” premiere during Venice Film Festival.

Him in a dark suit, and her in a stunning teal Roberto Cavalli strapless teal gown with black peep-toes and a black clutch.

Her Cinderella moment would’ve been so perfect had Shu Qi not worn the same dress 5 months ago.

The 2009 Cannes Film Festival judge Cavalli gown to the “UP” premiere with a diamond necklace.

I was considering giving this win to Elisabetta as I love the colour against her skin, but then I noticed the tattoo on her arm and moved my vote to Shu.

Handbag ~ Pick of the Day: Roberto Cavalli Satin Box Clutch

This ocean blue satin bow clutch is adorned with gold-tone hardware, accordion detailing at the side and a clasp to fasten. If you worry about snagging the satin (which I always do), the clutch has a wristlet handle to hold which should mitigate some of your worry. Oh no, oh no no no… the price! Yikes, Net-a-Porter for $3245.

Handbag ~ Pick of the Day: Roberto Cavalli Serpent Bracelet Clutch

Roberto Cavalli Serpent Bracelet Clutch for example. At first glance, the green satin absolutely jumps out and for all the right reasons. The color is gorgeous. And as I continued to look, I couldn’t get past the detachable serpent bracelet - I love it. Keep the bracelet on the bag and it works; take the bracelet off and put it on your wrist and that works too! The clutch is secured with a press stud and once you open the clutch you will find it is fully lined and sports a small zip pocket. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $910.

Who Wore Roberto Cavalli Better?

At this years Brit Awards, Kimberley Walsh arrived with her Girls Aloud band mates, wearing a white plunging Roberto Cavalli Spring 2009 gown, with gold chain trims.
She looked so glamourous, and sexy with the cut-out details showing off her sun-kissed skin.

Taiwanese actress Shu Qi attended the Inglourious Basterds Premiere during Cannes Film Festival wearing the same dress, but for me having much less impact, despite looking beautiful in the gown.

At a cocktail party thrown in her honour, she showed off her billowing, Roberto Cavalli floral chiffon maxi dress. She wasn't content with the dress being enough of a statement, she also added a diamante headband, a huge silver necklace, and multiple bracelets to complete her look.

Actor Cameron Mathison arrived with his wife Vanessa Arevalo, who was drop dead gorgeous in this white Roberto Cavalli gown. Gina Gershon wore the same dress in black to the Tony Awards.

Runway to Red Carpet: Roberto Cavalli

Lucy Liu is exquisite in this soft pink Roberto Cavalli Fall 2008 gown, embroidered with mother-of-pearl flowers. The colour compliments her skin well.

Who Wore Roberto Cavalli Better?

Model turned actress Rebecca Romijn, arrived at the 14th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, wearing a curve-hugging, sweetheart neck-lined, corseted Roberto Cavalli Resort 2008 cocktail dress. The stunning white dress had a black sequined and lace overlay, to give it a dazzling effect. The actress wowed everyone that night, because she was one of the few ladies on the red carpet that night to wear a knee-length dress. She wore minimal jewelery, her hair wavy and black pointy pumps.

Canadian singer Celine Dion, wore the same dress, when she received the Legion d'Honneur from French President Nicolas Sarkozy, at the Elysee Palace in Paris. This is one of France's greatest accolades. She wore her dress with a form-fitting black satin jacket and black peep-toes.

Celebrities Love Roberto Cavalli

Signature style: opulent, flamboyant, feminine, powerful and extremely sexy.

Roberto Cavalli loves to embellish and pile on the glitz and glamour to whatever he's creating. In his vocabulary there are no such words as 'moderation', 'understated' and 'plain'. Cavalli's favourite materials to work with are animal and reptile skins, leather and suede - which he in turn dip-dyes, splatters with crystals or festoons with feathers.

Kate Hudson is truly AMAZING in this gown from the Fall 2005 collection. She wore this gown to The Skeleton Key Premiere in London. She looks just a good if not better than the model which is really rare.

This dress was taken from the Spring 2007 collection. Jennifer Lopez suits Cavalli's designs as she embodies his style of being opulent, flamboyant, feminine, powerful and extremely sexy.

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie:
This dress is from the Spring 2006 collection which both Paris and Nicole wore (while they were enemies) on 2 different photo shoots. Paris' was for Elle while Nicole posed for another magazine. Who wore it better?

This Spring 2006 dress deserves to be on the red carpet, but on this occasion it was used for Paris' Elle photo shoot. It is very cute on Paris.

Trust Paris to choose the only dress in the Spring 2004 collection that was nipple bearing.

Victoria Beckham has picked Roberto Cavalli to be her personal fashion designer, in her determination to "stand out from the crowd".

She gave the style guru an exclusive contract to dress her for every occasion, and Cavalli is taking his position very seriously.
