A special nod to the newly engaged Grace...I love the mix of shapes {and fruit!} in these vibrant and whimsical florals by the amazing David Stark...

big lighting, simple space

There's something so stunning to me about chandelier-type, large lighting fixtures in simple spaces where the lighting is the show stopper of the room...definitely a dream house type piece. All pieces here are by Ochre.

bathing in sea of cupcakes...

Three words...OH-MY-GOODNESS. I could live, breathe, and sleep in a sea of mini cupcakes from Whiskie Bits in Oakland, California. I've never had them, but the photo makes me want to dive in head first. I seriously may have to move to Northern California for these cupcakes...or at least set up a cot right outside...yum. Have a great weekend everyone!

PopMat

One of my favorite new paper pieces spotted at the Stationery Show were these PopMat Placemats by Publique Living. Set a place for your guest with these beautiful pop-up graphics on disposable paper placemats. Each design incorporates an area which doubles as a name card, and they're made from 100% recycled paper. Available online at Charles & Marie right here.

wooden vessels...

Even though I feel like veneer is everywhere sometimes, I still really love these wooden gift boxes and veneer trays by Publique Living. Everything they do is simple and thoughtful....

specks of gorgeous light

Lighting has got to be one of my serious obsessions in home decor. I especially love pieces that reflect the light in beautiful ways. These pieces from Australian Bernabeifreeman are simply stunning. With industrial design and lighting backgrounds, I love their use of industrial materials to produce really striking and feminine pieces.

chocolate shavings...

Chocolate-pencils is a collaboration with patissier Tsujiguchi Hironobu, the mastermind behind popular dessert shops like Mont St. Claire and Le Chocolat de H. Tsujiguchi created a new dessert based on his impression of nendo after conversations with us, and we designed new tableware for them. We wanted our plates to show off the beauty of meals and desserts like a painting on a canvas. Based on this idea, our "chocolate pencils" come in a number of cocoa blends that vary in intensity, and chocophiles can use the special "pencil sharpener" that comes with our plate to grate chocolate onto their dessert. Pencil filings are usually the unwanted remains of sharpening a pencil, but in this case, they're the star!

a little something...

...how beautiful is this dessert and photo by L'Atelier Vi? It doesn't look easy to make, but this composition of spongy fragrant matcha génoise, rich & dense flourless chocolate cake, candied chestnuts, light & melt-in-your-mouth chestnut Chantilly, dusting of cocoa powder, and a piece of candied chestnut does sounds amazing...wow...have a great weekend!
