Beauty Must-Have: Taupe Nail Polish

by Jean

BESTBUYS SIDENOTE: If you’re looking for the bag pictured right, click here. The link isn’t working when you click the pic!

Not to beat a dead horse, I know I’ve said it before: nude/neutral and just soft tones in general are huge for spring 2010, and as sunnier days slowly inch closer (although you’d never know it considering the snow we’ve had in the Northeast lately!), start thinking about how the idea of…

nude nail polish sounds.

I can see how some might have their doubts, but… I’m into it, I’ve decided. Look at it this way: you’ve tried sparkly whites and barely-there pale pinks. Why not give something a bit more unexpected a chance?

Oddly enough, picking this (sometimes considered to be) “boring” shade as your nail color could be seen as quite… daring!

Gotta love the logic of fashion.

The best CheapChica option is probably OPI’s Over-the-Taupe shade (a little over $5.00)… unless you don’t mind shelling out $23.00 for Chanel’s not unsurprisingly gorgeous Particuliere.

Nail polish trends are so great… it’s never been cheaper to make a runway-inspired statement…

Lily Allen, Gwyneth and Kate Beckensale have already jumped on board, you could be next!

Monica Rose Blog: New Nail Polish Trends For Fall

There is one thing my clients ask me once a week and that is "what color should I paint my nails?"
It is actually important that their nails coordinate with the wardrobe choices we have planned for the week.
I was into hot pink a few months back but after previewing the FAB clothing that is coming out for fall, I can't help but to think ahead. These are some great new nail polish trends to look out for.
It's all about metallic shades, dip-dyed tips and matte nail polish. Just remember to skip the top coat!

On nails: OPI Matte Nail Lacquer in Russian Navy, $8.50. Also try: Knock Out Cosmetics Flatte Nail Polish in OX, $19.

OPI Matte Collection for Fall 2009

Matte is going to be the trend for nails come fall. But you need to wait until the leaves start turning to rock this look. You can start turning heads this very minute.

This month, OPI releases its long-awaited Matte Collection for Fall 2009. Six of OPI's best-selling shades get a makeover with a fashion-forward finish.

"OPI Matte is cutting edge for nails in terms of sophistication and style," says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI executive vice president and artistic director. "An all-matte nail is fresh, confident, and very fashion runway, and OPI Matte is meant for those moments when you want to make a major fashion statement."

Alpine Snow - A fresh crisp white
Gargantuan Green Grape - Green kissed by the summer sun
La Paz-itively Hot - A hot pink perfect for when you’re Bo-livia la vida loca
Lincoln Park After Dark - Where midnight meets purple
Russian Navy - Wait until you see this deep-sea indigo!
You Don’t Know Jacques! - If you don’t know how trendy this taupe is!

Considering my favorite nail color of all time, it's pretty obvious which of these shades is at the tippy top of my shopping list.

OPI’s South Beach Collection

Lately I’ve become a nail polish fanatic. While I love funky colors, sometimes versatile shades, that will work with any outfit, are best for me. I get my nails and toe nails done every 2 weeks at the salon, and try to make it last that long!

The South Beach inspired color span-a playful beige to a deep bronze,a sun-burnt purple to a party-ready coral.
