Ask Style: What's a Good Winter Date Look?

by StyleSpy

Two words: Textured legwear. You can't do much about having to wear a coat, but eventually, one would hope, you'll take it off—unless your date plans on taking you camping, which, seriously, I wouldn't wish that on anybody.

Wolford is the go-to name in sexy leggings and other silky dainties, stylists tell me. We've moved beyond florals and lace, you know. Even a visible seam is a little passé when you can have legwear in a python pattern. Urban Outfitters has snake-eye design for way less. (Yes, the reptile as a muse is stylishly groundbreaking in the tights world. Jewelry? Not so much.) All you have to do next is throw on little cocktail dress and a pair of hot shoes in an unexpected color.

See? Winter need not be dull.

Ask Style: How Can I Show My Feet Some Love?

by StyleSpy
Do you have a list of must-have products for feet?
—Kelli, via the Ask Style inbox

Oh, yes. Yes, I do. So many women sorely neglect their feet, content with a simple pedicure every two weeks down at the corner nail shop. And that's fine, for what it's worth. But given how much work they do for us, we spend precious little time treating our feet.

About once a month, consider soothing your soles with a multi-step care package. One of my favorites is the Relief for Tattered Tootsies kit from the Get Fresh spa. It does everything—exfoliates, scrubs, moisturizes, the works. At the end, your feet are supersoft and feel über-pampered. (Spa staple CND has similar products for at-home use that also work wonderfully. They're a modest way to treat yourself without paying spa prices. Viva recessionistas!)

As far as shoes, let's face it: Very few pairs of sexy shoes really fit the way we'd like them to. We face blistering heels, slippery bottoms, sliding toes, everything. Luckily, I've found FootPetals.com, a website that handles all of that through an array of clever insoles and inserts. My personal favorite? Tip Toes. They keep feet from sliding forward in strappy, sweaty, high-heel sandals. Even stars on the red carpet suffer from the creeping toe—but now you don't have to.
