TREND: Dresses with origami pleats

HOW TO WEAR IT: The artful folds are a more elegant version of the edgy, structured look. They can flatter a curvy figure and give shape to a straight physique if done right, such as in the cases of Camilla and Dania. The pleated necklines of their dresses beautifully highlight their décolletage, eliminating any need for a necklace. The subsequent gathering around their waists also gives them an hourglass silhouette. But overwhelming the body with too many creases is a definite no-no. Leave that to fashion slave Rihanna.

Pick of the Week: Giorgio Armani Beaded Platform Pump

These shoes are simply gorgeous. I loved the ruched chiffon detail. The beading is very pretty, and not over done like you often see. They would be gorgeous with a little black dress or even evening trousers. I also love that designers are putting platforms in evening shoes now. The only caveat is the price. They are gorgeous, but I wouldn’t pay that much for them, not when you can buy pretty evening shoes from top designers for less. But I’ll certainly be looking for them to go on sale at the end of the season!

Runway to Red Carpet: Beyonce

Beyonce is the face and voice of Emporio Armani 'Diamonds', so this month she was joined by Giorgio Armani for an event at the La Rinascente in Milan. It would have been a crime if Beyonce had worn any other designer, especially her mother's designs, so she wore this satin maroon Giorgio Armani Fall 2007 dress. The dress is OK.
